Summary of the House Committee Version of the Bill

HCS SCS SB 232 -- MEMORIAL HIGHWAYS

SPONSOR:  Crowell (Cooper, 158)

COMMITTEE ACTION:  Voted "do pass by consent" by the Committee on
Transportation by a vote of 9 to 0.

This substitute designates a portion of State Route 74/34 in Cape
Girardeau County from the Missouri/Illinois state line west to
the intersection of Business Loop 55/U. S. Highway 61/State Route
34 as the "John Oliver Jr. Parkway."

A portion of U. S. Highway 60 in Stoddard County from one-tenth
of a mile west of the U. S. Highway 60 and State Route ZZ
intersection to one-tenth of a mile west of the intersection of
U. S. Highway 60 and State Route 25 is designated as the
"Sergeant Carl Dewayne Graham Jr. Memorial Highway."

FISCAL NOTE:  No impact on General Revenue Fund in FY 2008,
FY 2009, and FY 2010.  Estimated Cost on Other State Funds of
$4,400 in FY 2008, $0 in FY 2009, and $0 in FY 2010.

PROPONENTS:  Supporters say that the bill will be a fitting
tribute to two deserving individuals.

Testifying for the bill were Senator Crowell; and State Highway
Patrol.

OPPONENTS:  There was no opposition voiced to the committee.
